About Robert Lee – Founder of UK 8020

Robert started his career in the theatre as a Stage Manager after being trained for Broadcast Television Production upon leaving school.

He then worked for the Rank Organisation for 21 years in their UK holiday division gaining experience in a variety of management roles from accounts, administration and customer service. He finally specialised in Marketing and Sales where he won various prestigious awards along the way.

Robert has always believed that multi-tasking is essential in today’s ever changing society and believes that people make businesses where staff care comes before customer care as you simply can’t have one without the other.

He has also worked as a voluntary mentor at a secondary school then subsequently as a school Counsellor helping children to face life’s tough decisions and to deal with their innermost gremlins.

Robert ran two successful businesses prior to setting up UK 8020, a ‘not for profit’ Community Interest Company. He is proud that the company’s powerful humanitarian objectives will help to achieve his teenage ambition of having an organisation that will have a direct humanitarian impact on those less fortunate and the vulnerable in society.

British born, Robert comes from an interesting multi-cultural background and was once described by someone, as his cosmopolitan friend. He considers himself not just British or European but a Worldite, a citizen of the one world we live in. It seems quite apt that Robert is married to Jennifer, a Singaporean. Most definitely a case of East meets West.
